So, last week we looked at a job to replace an old fence. The fence was installed almost 40 years ago, by us, and the homeowner was hoping to have a new, black-vinyl system installed. However, after inspecting the old fence, it was obvious that the posts were, despite a bit of superficial rust, in excellent condition. They were solid and the pipe was a heavy commercial grade that would easily last another 30-40 years.

Given this, we offered to save our customer money by sleeving new posts over the existing, and welding or teck-ing the posts as required. We took down the old wire, and then used the old top rail to reinforce the posts. We then added black vinyl and black framing- and the fence looked great. Our client was very happy with the work! The black system is secure and economical, and was clean and aesthetic improvement to a beautifully gardened home.
