On Wednesday 13 March our crews did a land clearing job, followed by a commercial hybrid installation for Mike in Windsor Ontario. The line required clearing about 100 feet of cedar, hawthorne and ash whips to open up a 5′ in the brush. Our crews are fully equipped in Forestry PPE including saw pants, helmets, hearing protection and chainsaw cut-resistant boots. All saw operators have appropriate safety courses for handling chainsaws.
After clearing the trees and dragging brush, we were able to install a hybrid commercial chain-link system. This means we cemented and/or drove 1 7/8 Schedule 40 (Heavy) Pipe, but the owner opted for a lighter residential gauge top rail to save money. We then installed 72″ 2 X 9 Galvanized fence wire. This provides durability, and excellent security for the property.
We installed a double gate, and with trenching and clearing were able to ensure the wire was close enough to the ground to keep the owner’s cat safe. Our customer was a Cat Guy… and this was an awesome Cat Fence.
